Cadet 160cc
Cadet 160cc
The perfect entry-level class within the NXT GP is the Cadet 160cc. This very affordable kart class is intended for drivers between six and twelve years old and has been around for many years. Many young racing talents have made their first meters in this class. Think of, among others, F2 driver Richard Verschoor.
Racing is done with a 160cc 4-stroke engine from brands like Honda. The choice of frame is free, allowing the tinkering parent or mechanic to make many adjustments regarding the kart's setup. The karts are always on slicks as rain tires are prohibited.
From 2021 onwards, only sealed engines will be used by one of the sealing points of the NXT GP. This creates a fair competition where the driver makes the difference! Does your 160cc engine have a different seal? Contact us to see if this seal is also valid. This ensures an equal Cadet 160cc starting field where everyone races with a sealed engine.
The Cadet 160cc has long been the breeding ground for young talent. Also in the upcoming season! We expect 15 to 20 Cadets at the start of each race this year!
There is a battle for an overall ranking. All Cadets participate in this. Additionally, we also have a special Rookie ranking. This Rookie ranking is only intended for drivers who are racing their first full season. During each Dutch Open weekend, there is an overall podium and a Rookie podium. For both rankings, there are super cool trophies for the top five of the day!
And that's not all! Because this season, there is also a unique prize to be won! The leader in the overall championship, after round 4 of the Dutch Open, wins a ticket to the Tillotson World Championship in Valencia! This driver will represent Team NL in the Tillotson T4 Mini class. The NXT GP sponsors a full arrive and drive voucher worth 2500 euros. You don't want to miss this!
Will we see you at the start of the most fun, largest, and most affordable Cadet 160cc championship in the Netherlands in 2026?
